a phrasal verb or verb phrase is a verb followed by an adverb, a preposition or both, which changes the original meaning of the verb. In phrasal verbs like "showed up” or "made up", "up" is an adverb, not a preposition. But if I say "he went up the stairs", "up" is a preposition.
therefore they are the same
therefore they are the same

Phrasal verb has two part -- First being the verb,
second being a preposition.(on, with, up, about...)
Instance - get about , get over , keep on, put on ...etc
verb phrase has verb itself + its object or complement.
Instance - I walked to the shop.( walked to the shop is verb phrase.
