Budding is a type of sexual reproduction mainly seen in primitive type of unicellular and multicellular organisms.

In budding , the organism gives out protruded structures known as buds , which trolley for it and give rise to the the daughter organism.

Planaria being a primitive organism , may use budding is a type of reproductive procedure , but it is more involved in another type of sexual reproduction known as :

Regeneration

There are mainly 2 types of regeneration:

  • Morpholaxis

  • Epimorphosis

Any part of Planaria may break down, (due to mechanical factors) will lead to formation of new organisms by this process of regeneration.
