Yaa , obviously if pollution is occurred the soil pollution will occur and make this infertile and acidic. The smoke, dust , polluted gases from factories and industries and harmful gases like carbon dioxide mixed with the cloud when it is going to condense. This is then mixed and the cloud get condense and start precipitation as rain . This rainfall is called acid rain. So when this touches the land or falls on land this make the land infertile and acidic. This is also harmful for the aquatic animals. In this way the land become s acidic.
