if we divide isoceles triangle into two triangles by drawing altitude then it can be easily congruent.........

therefore by cpct it bisects the side.......

In an isosceles triangle the median is also the altitude
both the lines bisect the vertex angle

so the altitude of an isosceles triangle drawn from an vertex bisects the base
