Answer:

Life is a journey, our journey with ourselves (when you ask the question:what is life , in which context do you want it answered?because there can be endless points-of-view on it)

Getting satisfaction in life is like achieving perfection in anything we do, which is quite impossible(I feel so, your views may differ). Also, it is not a continuous process - we do something that we really wanted to do and we feel satisfied for some time, for doing it but after some time we again feel the same need to do something else (or the same thing just in a different manner) that would satisfy us(for some time, mind it). Take the sadhus who meditate, for example, they know their purpose in life, that is, to seek god; they devote their whole life to it but they aren't satisfied because it is an endless journey. Even if they would have found god, would they have been satisfied then? then they would have ventured into the unknown for something else. Our whole life we pursue or prefer to do something we are passionate about because we, humans have the constant need to feel that we have a purpose in life and that our birth wasn't just an accident but had a higher cause, this gives us a tiny level of satisfaction as well. If we stop believing that, life would loose all meaning and people will loose the urge to even move or talk ( not necessarily, just trying to make a point). What I wanted to say is that your one deed cannot keep you satisfied your whole life, it can only satisfy you momentarily. You need to keep doing things that satisfy you, that way you live a life with a purpose and with the satisfaction of fulfilling that purpose, maybe through various ways! But I don't think you can be entirely/continuously satisfied in/with your life, it is not humanly possible.

I tried, hope I could provide you with the answer you were looking for and sorry if I couldn't answer to your "satisfaction".
