In my opinion, the title sounds pessimistic as he is focusing on the road he didnt take. Despite travelling on the second road, the title is about the one he didnt take. Although many confuse the title with the poet taking the road less travelled by, the context makes it obvious that he means the first road as he brings it up in the third stanza. He is not focusing on the road that he took, rather he is focusing on the experience missed out by not travelling in the first road. Hence, it seems to be pessimistic.
