Does the transfer of energy take place when you push a huge rock with all your might and fail to move it? Where is the energy you spend going?

yes,the transfer of energy takes place. when you lifts a heavy suitcase. The work is not done but the energy is consumed.just like that the energy is transferred into ths rock but work is not done because the energy is too little to make it in motion in the ratio of its mass of the rock. so the energy is being transferred......
