The mass of iron increases as rusting happens when oxygen combines with iron therefore the mass increases. when iron is rusted, it's weight increases.

Reason : Iron(Fe) is oxidised to Fe2O3 I.e. ferric oxide , which is generally known as rust. Here iron combines with Oxygen, therefore it increases weight.
