does their is a role of epiglots in trachea if yes then how ?explain

Epiglottis is a Fyn passage between pharynx and larynx.....sometimes during eating we get the feeling of choking.during chocking food may enter the windpipe n may be dangerous to the life....so epiglottis is a structure which saperates larynx and pharynx...it sees that the food doesn't enter the windpipe......

yes, trachea plays a vital role in trachea , at the top of trachea there is a flap of cartilage called epiglottis its function is to cover the mouth if trachea and works as a filter when we swallow food so that the food particles may not inter in the trachea .
