algae and fungi undergo many favourable as well as unfavourable conditions .during these unfavourable conditions algae and fungi potentially rest themselves so as to reserve food materials.
once the favourable condition is regained, the zygote continues to develop.
now talking about other organisms , humans do not have these type of mechanisms as they are not seasonal breeders ( hope you know what it is).
so we don't have these things , animals too do not have these mechanisms as they are well adapted to surroundings .
