In a social gathering where you are sitting to interact with people or you are in a rush or you are driving, sending messages can result in serious accidents and even distracts the gathering when you are not paying proper attention or contributing with suggestions.
There is no fascination in face to face conversations and people have less experience of sitting and talking in person.
Messages do not make strong emotional bonds.
