Dolphins and whales are the only aquatic animals who have a different way of respiration. Other aquatic animals like fishes, sharks etc. breathe through their gills. Dolphins and whales have blow holes present at the top of their body . They come swimming up the water surface and breathe in the air . This is why whales and dolphins come up the surface and breathe. Hence , they have a different way of respiration.
