Dominance is not an autonomous feature or the product that it has information for.
Explaination:
autonomous = independent
Lets say the above phrase is like “ DOMINANCE IS AUTONOMOUS”
Thne the dominant gene will always express the phenotype no matter whether it is in homozygour or in heterozygous condition. For eg. TT (homozygous) will produce Tall and Tt (heterozygous) will also produce Tall. So the expression is independent in this case or autonomous.
But this not the case always,
For an example: In camelia cultivar (Tea), when the white flower (ww) is crossed with red flower (RR), the F1 offspring shows both red and white in phenotypic expression which is codominance of both the gene. So, the Dominant gene is not independent in this case, or “DOMINANCE IS NOT AUTONOMOUS ”
there are lots of other examples: ABO Blood group of human, Roan colored cow etc.
