Let d₁ be x. Then d₂ = x + 5

=> 75 = 1/2 * x(x + 5)

=> 150 = x² + 5x

=> x² + 5x - 150 = 0

=> x² + 15x - 10x - 150 = 0

=> x(x + 15) - 10(x + 15) = 0

=> (x + 15)(x - 10)

x + 15 = 0

=> x = -15 =====> Not possible

x - 10 = 0

=> x= 10 ======> Correct

d₁ = x = 10cm

d₂ = x + 5 = 15cm
