because during S-phase only the amount of chromosome increases not the value of the chromosomes suppose if you have 46 chromosomes then during S-phase it will not trolls upto 92 , only the amount will be doubled just like if you have 4 chromosomes then after S - phase it will be 8 chromosomes so that after getting divided same no. of chromosome will be present i.e, 4 each in both cells so only Mitosis is an Equational cell division.
