As they are in series so current will be same

let the electric current be I

in first case

I=110/20×1000

now,when the one more resistance R is connected with it then, current will be same but resistance will be 20×1000+R

110/20000 =5/(20000+R)

22/20000 =1/(20000+R)

22×(20000+R)=20000

R=20000(22-1)

R=20000×21

R=420000

R=420kohm
