Don't you guys think our education system is just based just on 'completion of syllabus' and rote learning, and that we actually need to do something to bring about change

Hey

We don't have to think about it, it's obvious we lives it and breathes in it mate

No doubt its worst system in the world

This question pops up everywhere, everytime where there are indians

It need drastic reconstruction

I have no clue about these

⭕ We indians are currently having identity crisis we don't know english properly and we don't have any clue about hindi(our mother tounge) though(I am not talking about everybody but the majority so don't get offended).

⭕ I have no idea why we still doing the same as we do in past when there is no remote access ( Computers/ Smartphones).

⭕ We still try to get our head crushed in learning things
when there's the Internet.

⭕ Being from Computer Programming background my teacher expects me to learn code insted of performing it practically and they do the same with other's too.

⭕ The thing which makes the hell of my day is that our teachers still dictate notes to us and expect to jot them down.

⭕ We learn many things from Western culture but i have no clue why we learn things for all bad reasons but not for something good like for education, environment etc.

⭕ We do each and everything like for instance Art, Music,
Acting , Sports in our school but eventually everybody comes out to be a Engineer, Doctor , or something else related to Commerce ( Few of us follow their passion)

⭕ We don't have any proper education which can tell us about proper knowledge avout virtual world / cyber world.

I have lot to utter but ..

This thing comes up everytime and eveybody try to adduce it but nothing changes.

Anyways, I have no hope its will change soon

Peace out.

Aaryan00: I so very agree with you! we actually don't need to waste time of cramming formulas and lengthy calculatons as we have internet and computers to do that
Aaryan00: it's insensible

Education has been a problem in our country and lack of it has been blamed for all sorts of evil for hundreds of years. Even Rabindranath Tagore wrote lengthy articles about how Indian education system needs to change.  Funny thing is that from the colonial times, few things have changed. We have established IITs, IIMs, law schools and other institutions of excellence; students now routinely score 90% marks so that even students with 90+ percentage find it difficult to get into the colleges of their choice; but we do more of the same old stuff.

Rote learning still plagues our system, students study only to score marks in exams, and sometimes to crack exams like IIT JEE, AIIMS or CLAT. The colonial masters introduced education systems in India to create clerks and civil servants, and we have not deviated much from that pattern till today. If once the youngsters prepared en masse for civil services and bank officers exams, they now prepare to become engineers. If there are a few centres of educational excellence, for each of those there are thousands of mediocre and terrible schools, colleges and now even universities that do not meet even minimum standards. If things have changed a little bit somewhere, elsewhere things have sunk into further inertia, corruption and lack of ambition.
