Doremon travelled 4 km straight towards South. He turned left and travelled 6 km straight, then
turned right and travelled 4 km straight. How far is he from the starting point?

Doremone started from D moved towards south 4 km i.e, B then he travelled 6 km towards left to point F (in respect to his left) ,then he turned right and travelled 4 km to point D'.

This implies , DB=4 km and BC=4 km ( bcoz BC=FD' , from fig)

this implies , DC=8 km

and CD'=6 km ( bcoz BF = CD' , from fig )

Now we have to find the distance of DD' (see fig 2)

By pythogorus theorem for DCD',we get

(DD')²=(DC)² + (CD')²

=(8)²+(6)²

= 64 + 36

= 100

DD' = 100

DD'. = 10 km.
