Dorji has a few bottles of soft drink in his restaurant. But, unfortunately, these are not labelled. He has to serve the drinks on the demand of customers. One customer wants acidic drink, another wants basic and third one wants neutral drink. How will Dorji decide which drink is to be served to whom?

By the help of litmus paper. When she will test it with litmus paper, if the drink will be acidic the paper will turn blue to red, and if the drink will be basic the paper will turn red to blue. And if it will be neutral there will be no change in the colour of the paper.

pH scale can also help.
A solution's pH will be a number between 0 and 14. A solution with a pH of 7 is classified as neutral drink. If the pH is lower than 7, the drink is acidic. When pH is higher than 7, the soft drink is basic. These numbers describe the concentration of hydrogen ions in the solution . Dorji can also use litmus paper for his help

Hope it helps you !
