Given:-

  • Weight (F) = 1500 N

  • Area of soles of his feet ,A = 0.5m²

To Find:-

  • Pressure exerted by his body on the ground,P.

Solution:-

As we know that Pressure is defined as the Force per unit area.

SI Unit of Pressure is Pascal (Pa) .

• P = F/A

Where,

P is the pressure

F is the Force

A is the area

Substitute the value we get

→ P = 1500/0.5

→ P = 15000/5

→ P = 3000 Pa

Therefore,the pressure exerted by his body on the ground is 3000 Pascal.

Extra Knowledge !!

✧ Product of mass and acceleration is called force.

✧ SI unit of Force is Newton.

✧ It is denoted by N.

✧ Force is vector Quantity i.e., both Magnitude and direction.

✧ Mathematical term

F = ma

where

F is the Force

m is the mass

a is the acceleration

Question:-

⌬ Dorji weights 1500 N. If the total surface area of the soles of his feet is 0.5 m². What is the pressure exerted by his body on the ground?

Given:-

  • Dorgi Weight = 1500 N
  • T.S.A of the soles of his feet = 0.5 m²

To find:-

  • Pressure exerted by his body on the ground.

Solution:-

\star{\boxed{\sf{\orange{S.I~ Unit~ of~ Pressure = Pascal}}}}

\star{\boxed{\sf{\purple{S.I~ Unit~ of~ Force = Newton}}}}

Formula used

  • \sf{P =\dfrac{F}{a}}

\tt\longrightarrow{} \sf{P =\dfrac{F}{a}} Means

  • P = Pressure
  • F = Force
  • A = Area

Let's do it

\large{\tt{\longmapsto{P =\dfrac{F}{a}}}}

\large{\tt{\longmapsto{P =\dfrac{1500}{0.5}}}}

\large{\tt{\longmapsto{P = 3000 pa}}}

Hence, the pressure exerted by his body on the ground is 3000 pa.
