Dorothy Deming was a famous children's writer and was born in 1893 at Ryan and during the time of her childhood and growth, she travelled a lot of places with her family in OK and some other places, for the fact that her father was a "telegraph operator". After "graduating" from high school, she went to South-western Bell for work. She even attended the OKC University and majored in business. Dorothy later met her love interest Harry on a "blind date".

She was promoted at her working place. For a notable duration, she had even worked as the sales clerk in the wedding registry department. She was even elected as director of visiting nurse association. Her sequel 'Penny Marsh' mushroomed on success. Dorothy was married in 1959 in a double marriage ceremony. Dorothy enjoyed painting, deer hunting, craft work, and the family life was bliss to her. She was died in 1972.
