double convex lens made of glass has refractive index 1.56 and both have radius of curvature of 20cm. if object is at distancence 10cm from lens find position of image

ANSWER

Here, R1​=20cm,R2​=−20cm,u=−10cmandμ=1.56 
Using  lens marker's formula,
f1​=(1.56−1)[201​+201​]⇒f=0.56×220​=17.86cm
Now, from lens equation,
v=u+fuf​=−10+17.86−10×17.86​=−21.73cm
Since v is negative, the image will be formed on the same side as that of object.
