We know that , volume of sphere is given by :

v \:  = (4 \div 3)\pi \:  {r}^{3}

Now , as new radius is double of the original one , we have new volume given by :

V' = ( 4 / 3 ) π ( r') ³ ,

where r' = 2r

Hence , ( r')³ = ( 2r )³ = 8r³

Hence , the volume becomes 8 times

hence , the statement is false .
