'Dr. Rajendra Prasad' was the 'first President of India'. He presided over the office from 1950- 1962. Dr. Rajendra Prasad was a political leader and also a lawyer by training. He was a member of the Indian National Congress.  

EXPLANATION:

Dr. Rajendra Prasad was highly influenced by Mahatma Gandhi and his ideologies. He gave up his law practice and worked for the cause of freedom. Dr. Prasad upheld the ideology of Swadesi and started the 'National College' in Patna in '1921'.

As the first President of India, he acted according to the Constitution without showing favour to any political party. He worked as an ambassador of India and managed to build 'good relations' with several foreign nations.
