Roadways have been blocked, schools in some areas are closed, people are urged to participate in large numbers to uphold the secularism of the nation. And for the safety of the protesters, several groups have united and made efforts to provide help and resources such as food and drinks. An emergency helpline has also been set up for any help, and help in all forms have been coming in from various angles.
This strikes and protests may become an ongoing occurrence for as long as the government does no attempt to negotiate or even work on it to change it's motive. While the Hindu right wing groups have time and again claimed that it is for the interest of the people of India, there has been many incidents based on one's religion which have further led to more questions on the validity of that claim. It is for us all to see what the future will bring.
