Given :    Line 1  ( 2, 5 ) , (-3 , - 5)

Line 2 ( 3, 0) , ( 0 , - 3)

To Find   : Point of intersection

Solution:

Line 1  ( 2, 5 ) , (-3 , - 5)

y - y₁  = { (y₂ - y₁)/(x₂ - x₁) } (x - x₁)      where m = (y₂ - y₁)/(x₂ - x₁)

y - 5 = {( -5 - 5)/(-3 - 2) }(x - 2)

=> y - 5 = 2 (x - 2)

=> y - 5 = 2x - 4

=>  2x  - y  =  - 1

Line 2 ( 3, 0) , ( 0 , - 3)

y - 0  = {(-3 - 0)/(0 - 3)} ( x - 3)

=> y = x - 3

=> x - y = 3

2x  - y  =  - 1

x - y = 3

=> x  = - 4

   y = -7

point of intersection  ( - 4 , - 7)
