  • take a point O
  • draw two circles of radius 3cm and 5cm from O
  • draw a line from O to the outer circle
  • Mark it as P
  • draw perpendicular bisector for OP
  • mark the perpendicular bisector intersection point as M
  • take PM as radius and draw a circle from M
  • the new circle will intersect the old circle at two points
  • Mark those points as A and B
  • now join PA and PB
  • PA and PB are the tangents
