1. GNP - Gross National Product is the measure of the total income of a country. The more the number of people visits a particular country, the more will be the income generated, which will have a positive impact in a country's economy  
2. .Population in tourism and its contribution to GNP in both countries

• India: Since India is a diverse country with lots of tourist attractions, the percentage of contribution to GNP is high. It is roughly about 9.2% or 16 Lakh crore of GNP  
• USA:    The USA is the epicenter of the tourist attraction of wealthy people.   Cities like San-Francisco and New-York which are highly urbane attract global visitors and have been a major contribution to the country's economy. Its 2.8% or 1.6 Trillion Dollars of GNP
