• She insisted on having a spacious store of 10"x8”as she thought that it could be used by her mother-in-law and after her mother-in-law's demise, it could be transformed into storeroom. This perhaps shows her greed.
• Mrs. Malik never approved of her daughter-in-law. She did not share a good rapport with her. According Mrs. Malik, her daughter-in-law was a modern women in weird ways. Her daughter-in-law sits along with her husband on the front seat of the car and Mrs. Malik had to sit in the back seat. Her daughter-in-law keeps talking in English with her son despite knowing that Mrs. Malik does not have English knowledge.
• After her husband's death  and after the marriage of her son, Mrs. Malik was robbed off her status of lady of house. Finally which storeroom Mrs. Malik wanted to give her mother in law, she ended up getting that room from daughter-in-law. This shows the lesson that Mrs. Malik learnt - care and respect for elder people. Mrs. Malik did not respect her mother-in-law. and she realised her mistakes when she became a mother-in-law, and was not treated properly by her daughter-in-law.
