Answer:

The General was a self-obsessed, cruel, cunning man who hated the Americans like every other Japanese. People said he was so cruel that he beat his wife rudely, leave alone what he would do with his enemy who are caught as war prisoners. He was quite insensitive in his ways and thought of none other than himself.

Answer:

Explanation:

The General comes across as a very selfish man in the story ‘The Enemy’. The General was a heartless man who only cared about himself. He had absolutely no feelings for anyone but himself.

He gave importance only to himself and wanted to safeguard only his life. He spared the white soldier due to his selfish nature. Later, due to his cruel nature, he ordered the white man to be assassinated and the body to be disposed of.

He was proud, secretive and worked only for his own benefit.
