           Highlighting various Social evil

Dowry is wealth in the form of cash or kind that the family of bride is obliged to pay to the family of bridegroom's family at the time of marriage. It is given and taken in the name of gifts. But it has several undercurrents. It is a financial burden on the family of the bride. Without dowry there have been cases where the brides have met the fate of death due to its coercive demands from her in-laws and the incompetence of her parents to fulfill them.  It is also one of the factors behind sex selection at the time of birth in favour of boys.

Untouchability means secluding the deprived classes. It is a social evil because by practicing untouchability backward classes are deprived of the same rights which the other classes enjoy. Though Indian constitution prohibits untouchability but still it is practiced in many regions.

Gender discrimination has been an all time controversial issue since the starting of the time.Male chauvinism is in the blood of humans and have destroyed the identity of women. You can give example of Adam and Eve. Eve is always blamed for the fall of mankind. However, whatever Eve did was out of innocent nature, but Adam did intentionally.Women are denied their basic rights, treated less as humans and more like property of the men. The dominance of a male over  the female has been a contemporary issue. Fundamental Rights are also denied. In literature, women were not allowed to write and speak. They had to adopt a pseudo name or be anonymous to write and get published.Even today we can find crimes against women. Undoubtedly, these crimes were done from the starting of the time . The difference is that earlier they were done  within four walls and now are done blatantly.Female foeticide, female infanticide, child marriage, sati pratha, and lot more.

Religious tolerance is often misinterpreted in terms of the majority simply allowing a minority to follow their religious practices or a religion. In the truest sense, religious tolerance means that people of all faiths including atheists are treated equally as citizens with full rights without any discrimination whatsoever.Followers of all faiths have complete independence to practice their faiths without hurting other sentiments.
