Given : a circle of radius 3cm a point P outside the circle such that OP = 7.5cm

To Find : Draw two tangents to the circle from point P.

Solution:

Step 1 : Take a point O

Step 2 : Using compass width = 3 cm and taking O as center draw a circle

Step 3 : Take a point P at a distance of 7.5 cm from O

Step 4 : Join OP

Step : Draw perpendicular bisector of OP

Take Suitable Width of compass Draw arcs on both sides of OP taking O as center Then intersect both arcs at X , Y taking P as center

draw a line joining X & Y intersecting OP at M

Step 6 Taking M as center  and compass width = MO = MP Draw arc intersecting circle at A & B

Step 7 : Join PA & PB

PA & PB are required tangent
