Given : a circle of radius 4.2 cm

To Find : Take any point M on it. Draw tangent to the circle from  point M.

Solution:

Step1  -Mark a point O

Step 2 : Using O as center & taking compass width = 4.2 cm , Draw a circle

Step 3 : Mark a point M on Circle circumference

Step 4 : Join OM

Step 5 : Draw a right angle at M on OM using Protractor / set square and extend line on both sides

Line is  tangent to circle touching at point M

Answer:

Here is your answer.

I give you this answer practically. If you want to solve the length of tangent then I say you a rule.

The radius of the tangent and the tangent to the tangent are perpendicular to each other.

Here I say this from my giving picture:

 {on}^{2}  +  {mn}^{2}  =  {om}^{2}

Think you length of OM and put this I find the length of tangent (MN).

(Note: I give you this by using pen you should do it by pencil compass)
