Answer:

Definitions

  1. Circle- The collection of all the points in a plane which are at fixed distance from a fixed point in the plane is called a circle .
  2. Cirumference-The boundary or perimeter of the circle is it's circumference.
  3. Diameter-The chord which passes through the centre of the circle is called diameter of the circle.
  4. Sector-The region between an arc and the two radii, joining the circle to the ends points of the arc is called a sector.
  5. Segment-The region between a chord and either of its arcs is called a segment of the circular region.

Given:

Radius of circle = 4 cm

To Find: Draw a circle and label its parts

Calculation:

  • Radius of circle: Radius of a circle is the line about which a curved closed line is drawn to form a circle. In this image below, r = OA = OB = OC = OD = 4 cm. It is half of diameter of circle which is AB = CD = 8cm.
  • Centre: It is the point around which a curved line is drawn by maintaining a fixed length line i.e. radius.
  • Circumference: The perimeter of circle is called circumference and is equal to 2πr.
  • Area of circle: Area of circle is given as π * r* r. It is the area covered inside the closed curved line.
  • Given circle is divided by two diameters AB and CD in four sections called quadrants.
