JUSTIFICATION :

join AP and BP

AP and BP are the radius of circle 1

wkt, radius is perpendicular to tangent

therefore, angle PAQ = angle PBQ = 90°

In triangle PAQ,

PQ²= AP²+AQ² (using pythagoras thrm.)

7²= (2.5)² + AQ²

49 - 6.25 = AQ²

AQ² = 42.75

AQ = 6.53

The required tangents AQ and BQ = 6.5cm
