Both the poems have similar theme. In Snake by D.H. Lawrence, the narrator is regretful for his mistake of not treating the visiting snake.
In the poem Rime of the Ancient Mariner by S.T. Coleridge, the narrator is also regretful for having killed the albatross.
So both the poems deal with the narrator’s regret for having not treated animals respectfully. However, there were so many differences between both the poems also. In Rime of the Ancient Mariner, supernatural forces intervened; but in the Snake no such intervention took place.
