Given : distance of focus from the directrix is 70mm and eccentricity is 4/3.

To Find : Draw the conic curve,

Solution:

1. Draw a horizontal line

2. Draw a vertical line line  ( perpendicular line )

3.   Mark a point 70mm from vertical line on horizontal line and mark as F

4.  Mark a point on horizontal line 40 mm from F   and label V

5.  Draw a perpendicular line at V equal to VF  and mark as 1

6.  Draw a line passing though O and 1

7  Draw a line 45° to horizontal line from F and mark point P when it cuts the extended line of O1 P

8  Draw a vertical line from F and mark the point 2

9.  Draw a vertical line from Point P to the horizontal line mark the point as  e

10.  Draw a perpendicular bisector line for V e and mark the point as M and N

11. Mark point 3 such that MN=F3

12. Join V23 by smooth curve as shown

13.  Draw mirror image of the curve
