THE FOUR TYPES OF ELEMENTS ARE;
- sieve tubes
-companion cells
-phloem fibres
-phloem parenchyma
in respect to conduction, the difference btw xylem and phloem is;
-in xylem the conduction is unidirectionsl, i.e from roots to leaves
-in phloem the conduction is bi-directional, i.e from leaves to storage areas and from there to growing parts of plant body
-in xylem conducting channels are tracheids and vessels
- in phloem conducting channels are sieve tubes

Answer:

FOUR TYPES OF PHLOEM ELEMENTS:

1. Sieve tubes

2. Companion cells,

3. Phloem parenchyma, and

4. Phloem fibres.

DIFFERENCE BTW XYLEM AND PHLOEM:

XYLEM :

1. It consist of mainly dead cells.

2. It consist of trachieds, vessels , xylem parenchyma and xylem fibres.

3. It conduct water and dissolved minerals from roots to the aerial parts in upward direction.

PHLOEM :

1. Consist of living cells.

2. Element of phloem are sieve tubes , companion cells , phloem parenchyma and phloem fibres.

3. It translocates organic food from the leaves to the storage organs and growing parts of the plant.
