The sperm or spermatozoon is a very small haploid cell .

It has :-

3▪ mid piece

Head :-

The head contains nucleus having haploid set of chromosome . Adhering to the top of head is acrosome .

The lysosome like acrosome is produced by the golgi apparatus and contains hydrolytic enzyme hyaluronidase that enables the sperm to penetrate and enter an egg.

Neck :-

The neck of sperm is very short and contains a pair of centrioles .

Tail :-

the microtubulesof one of the centriole elongate and run the entire length of the tail .

Middle piece :-

The middle piece contains many mitochondria arranged spirally around the axial filament .
