The reading of ammeter is = 1 ampere

The reading of voltmeter is = 20 volt

Explanation:

Total Potential = 12 V

Resistances (1)=5 ohm

Resistance (2)=10 ohm

Resistance (3) = 15 ohm

Resistance (4)=20 ohm

All the resistances are connected in series .

So, total resistance = 5+10+15+20=50 ohm

The Ammeter reading that is value of current across 20 ohm can be calculated as :

V=IR

Let us calculate the total current in circuit first :

V=I R

12=I x 20

I=1 Ampere

Now, let us calculate the potential across 20 ohm resistor :

V=IR

V=1 x 20=20 Volt

So, reading of voltmeter is 20V.

Now, let us calculate the reading of ammeter

V=IR

20=I x  20

I=1 Ampere
