The relation between pressure and volume under constant temperature can be understood by Boyle’s law.

 [Graph]

The graph is a hyperbola, the volume of a given amount of gas is inversely proportional to pressure at which it is measured given the temperature is constant. This is the statement of Boyle’s law

.

It can be expressed as,

                                                 PV=ηRT

where, T is temperature; η is number of moles and R is gas constant.

We get, PV = constant or P is inversely proportional to V.
