Draw a graph for
A body first retarding uniformly remains at rest for sometime and then accelerating uniformly. ​

From the kinematic expression.

v=u+at

here, the final velocity is v, the initial velocity is u, the acceleration is a, and the time is t.

if the initial velocity is zero then, u=0

so, the expression becomes.

v=at

now compare the above expression with the equation of a line i.e. y=mx+c so, this is the expression of straight line with slope a.

hence, the curve will be a straight line with slope a.
