•Interference is phenomenon of superposition of two coherent light waves .

•There are two types of interference

i.e. constructive interference & destructive interference

•Constructive interference produces bright fringe

•destructive interference produces dark fringes

•Intensity of light is max. at Bright fringes

•Intensity of light is min. at dark fringes.

•Intensity of all the bright fringes are same

• Interference pattern can be produced by two experiments i.e. Young's double slit experiment & diffraction due to single slit

• Graph showing variation of intensity of interference pattern of both the experiment is shown below
