Note that for all points on the graph,

|y|≥0(1)

1−x2≥0(2)

1≥x2(3)

∴x∈[−1,1]

Now we split the graph into 2 parts

+y=1−x2

−y=1–x2

Both of these are parabolas which you can plot without much difficulty.

Now we restrict the graph for x to lie between −1 and 1 .

1.plot x^2

2.invert it about x axis

3.raise it upwards by 1 unit

4.This is y=1-x^2

5.for mod(y), along with this, take mirror image about x axis.

6.Combined graph is the solution.

7.Restrict answer between y=-1 and y=1 as maximum value of mod(y) is 1.

How do I graph of "y=|x-1|+|x-2|"?

The graphs consisting modulus function and linear equations are the simplest ones. Wondering How?

Check this out:

y=|x−1|+|x−2|

So, equate both the linear expressions with 0. And the resulting value will be the intersection of the equation under modulus and the x-axis.

So, x−1=0 and x−2=0

∴x=+1 and x=+2

And then plot this small figure, which defines the modulus function's sign before and after intersection.

And then, combine both of them to get a rough idea about the shape.

And, then break the modulus function into pieces.

How do I plot the graph of y = ||cosx-1| -2| ?

Let's first solve the equation and plot the graph of the simplified equation.

Let y=||f(x)|−2| , where f(x)=cos(x)−1.

cos(x) is a sinusoidal wave with values in the range [-1, 1]. This means f(x) lies in the range [-2, 0] without a change in the nature of the graph.

Since f(x) can only have non-positive values, |f(x)| will only have non-negative values. As for every value of x, f(x) and |f(x)| will have the same value with opposite signs (except for zero, of course), we can say that |f(x)|=−1∗f(x)=1−cos(x) . The values of |f(x)| will lie in the range [0, 2].

What is the graph of y=|x+1| and y=|2-x|?

y=|x| is a graph V shaped where the vertex of V is the origin.

So Now we will be doing origin shifting for y=|x+1|.

Say x+1=X.

so y=|X|.

Now for y vs X graph, our graph will be a V with vertex of V at origin.

But Hey! , We know that X=x+1, so for y vs x graph, we have a V. Now for y vs X graph, for X=0, we get y=0. so for y vs x graph, we will get y=0 for x=-1.

So our vertex of V will come to (0,-1) from (0,0). This is known as the shifting of origin.

Now lets do y=|2-x|.

Say X=2-x. So our y vs X graph turns out to be V , with vertex at origin,

Now we can see, our vertex is at (0,0). So for y vs x grap

How can I plot the graph of y= e^|x|?

Generally for f(x)= X kind. That is for linear equations with 2 variables,we first take one varaible as Zero and plot one point and do the same for another variable…then take them as equal quantities and then both as Zero…if Resulatnt is zero when both the quantities are taken zero then the given curve pasees through origin. Now, u can draw the required curve.

For y= e^|x|

As |x| is always positive, ‘y’ is positive for both positive and negative values of ‘x’.

How can we plot the graph of x^2-mod x-2>=0?

Firstly, this is an equation and not a function, because an algebraic expression in one variable has been equated to 0 . So one can only obtain certain values for variable x.

If you're interested in graph of

y=x2−|x−2|

The way to solve this is to realize that

|x−2|={x−22−xx>=2x<2

Thus, first plot for x>=2 The function becomes y=x2−x+2 . This is a parabola with axis parallel to y-axis, and open upwards.

For x<2,y=x2+x−2

This is also a parabola.

So, on the right side of the line x=2 use first plot, and on the left side use second plot. Do this on the same graph, to get the complete graph.
