Neurons are the basic unit of brain and nervous system. Neurons helps in transmitting impulses which are send to brain. They communicate with one cell to another cell with a special structure called synapse.

Neuron has axons which is a long thin structure, dendrites which are finger like structure which receive impulses and a nucleus which is present in a cell body of neuron. Neurons work in response to action potential.
