Dear Student,

[Refer to the image for well labeled diagram of plant cell.]

(a) Chloroplast -

  • Structure of chloroplast shows double-membrane, granular stroma, lamellar system, chloroplast DNA and osmophilic granules.

Functions of chloroplast -

  • It is the site of photosynthesis.
  • It gives green colour to plant leaves.

(B) Endoplasmic reticulum -

  • It is closed organelle consisting of cisternae continuing with nuclear membrane.
  • It can be smooth or rough based on presence of ribosomes.

Functions of endoplasmic reticulum -

  • Protein and lipid synthesis occurs here.
  • It carry outs folding and transport of proteins.

(C) Mitochondria -

  • The mitochondrion is a double-membrane bound organelle found in most eukaryotic organisms.

Functions of mitochondria -

  • It is powerhouse of the cell.
  • It is site Krebs cycle and beta-oxidation of compounds.
  • It provides enzymes for electron-transport chain.

(D) Nucleus -

  • It contains cell's genetic material especially DNA.
  • Nucleic acids are formed of deoxyribose sugar, a nitrogen base and a phosphate group.

Functions of nucleus -

  • It controls gene expression.
  • It carry outs replication of DNA.
  • Controls various functions of cell.

Best luck dear...
