following parts and write one function of each.
1. Pollen tube
2. Ovary
3. Pollen grain
Answers
See the diagram in attachment and function in text.
Pollen tube=The pollen tube acts as a conduit to transport the male gamete cells from the pollen grain—either from the stigma (in flowering plants) to the ovules at the base of the pistil or directly through ovule tissue in some gymnosperms.
Ovary=The ovaries produce the egg cells, called the ova or oocytes. The oocytes are then transported to the fallopian tube where fertilization by a sperm may occur. The fertilized egg then moves to the uterus, where the uterine lining has thickened in response to the normal hormones of the reproductive cycle.
Pollen grain=Sperm cells inside the pollen grain travel down the pollen tube and into the ovary which contains the ovules. Fertilization occurs when one of the sperm cells fuses with the egg inside of an ovule. ... The ovary surrounding the ovules develops into a fruit that contains one or more seeds.
