Cornea:
- It is the transparent front part of the eyes.
- It defines approximately two-thirds of the eye power.
Iris:
- It defines the colour of eyes.
- It is thin and circular in shape which controls the size of the pupil.
- It also control the amount of light reaching retina.
Pupil:
- It is a dark hole in the centre of the iris.
- It allows the light to reflect on retina.
Ciliary muscles:
- It is present in the middle layer of eyes.
- It control the reflex and relaxation of eye lens to accommodate the image into the retina.
Eye-lens:
- It is a biconvex lens.
- It refracts the light to fall on retina.
Retina:
- It is thin layer in the back of the eyes.
- It transfers neurotic signals from eyes to brain.
Optic nerve:
- It acts as a bridge between retina and brain.
- It is made up of support cells and retinal ganglion cell axons.
Blind spot:
- It is a small portion that corresponds to the position of optic disc.
- It has no photoreceptor cells.
