Human eye system:

The human eye with given parts are mentioned in image attached below.

Cornea:

  • It is the transparent front part of the eyes.
  • It defines approximately two-thirds of the eye power.

Iris:

  • It defines the colour of eyes.
  • It is thin and circular in shape which controls the size of the pupil.
  • It also control the amount of light reaching retina.

Pupil:

  • It is a dark hole in the centre of the iris.
  • It allows the light to reflect on retina.

Ciliary muscles:

  • It is present in the middle layer of eyes.
  • It control the reflex and relaxation of eye lens to accommodate the image into the retina.

Eye-lens:

  • It is a biconvex lens.
  • It refracts the light to fall on retina.

Retina:

  • It is thin layer in the back of the eyes.
  • It transfers neurotic signals from eyes to brain.

Optic nerve:

  • It acts as a bridge between retina and brain.
  • It is made up of support cells and retinal ganglion cell axons.

Blind spot:

  • It is a small portion that corresponds to the position of optic disc.
