draw any line AB
take any point x on it
Mark any point P outside the lines a b and distance of 4 cm and join it to x
now make a 90 degree angle on X by making an arc taking x as centre
Now take the distance in compass according to your need and mark a point on the line as B
Draw a 90° angle on b and make a straight line on it
thus your required parallel lines are ready....
