take a line AB

and Mark a point X outside the line as shown in the figure

the through X draw perpendicular line to AB

then draw the a line PQ intersecting X and perpendicular to X

thus PQ is parallel to AB

if you use the consider the interior angles then their sum is 180°

which indicates that AB is parallel to PQ
